“说英语,不可能的,这辈子都不可能说英语”。和老师上课时要求学生英语发言的时候,大概这就是学生内心疯狂的抗拒。但是语言是需要引导和勤于练习才能有所提高的。新航道留预四个级别正是引导写生开口的金钥匙。无论是听说读写,留预课程都有很多针对性的练习,辅助学生“步步高升”。

以下就前两个原因已做详细阐述,最后一个同学们作为课下模拟练习。
Q: What are some advantages and disadvantages of multi-gen homes?
A: In general, there are some advantages to live in the extended family.
First, it is pretty economical. In other words, living with family members can help reduce the economic stress. To take young adults as an example, they move away from home for college and move back home as adults for the reason that they find it so difficult to live on their own with the rising housing price.
Second, it is the health care. To illustrate, people who were born in 1960s-1970s, called Generation-X are now working and have a family to support. However, their parents also need to be taken care of. With health care so expensive, living in the multi-gen house can give them more choices for care-giving.
分析:以上就是在上课学完这听力内容之后,老师带着学生归纳出大家庭的益处。之后问学生,what are some advantages of multi-gen homes? 运用精听的内容,学生需要用自己的话paraphrase 这个大家庭的益处。
我们可以采取总分的结构回答问题。从表格得出,口语输出内容共有三点,所以首先,引导学生总的来说有许多好处,即In general, there are some advantages to live in the extended family.之后引导他们按First, second这样的结构分说具体益处并适当按表格的思路联合成有关联逻辑的话。为了使每点益处简洁明了,分别用一个词摆出来,后面在解释或者举例细说。比如点,First, it is pretty economical.什么是economical呢?换言之,可用In other words,就是住在大家庭会减少经济压力,即Living with family members can reduce the economic stress,这样就通俗的解释了economical。之后引导学生把年轻人作为例子,To take young adults as an example,接着引导他们详细说明他们住在大家庭是因为经济原因,两句话是因果联系,可以用for the reason that连接,即是They move away from home for college and move back home as adults for the reason that they find it so difficult to live on their own with the rising housing price.连在一起,从而从经济层面详细的进行了原因说明。
其次,同样引导学生说出第二点医疗方面的好处,第二点Second, it is the health care.具体来说,可以用To illustrate这个表达。Generation X 这一代上有老下有小,然而还要赡养父母。引导学生可用however表转折,即People who were born in 1960s-1970s, called Generation-X are now working and have a family to support. However, their parents also need to be taken care of.由于支付不起高昂的医疗花费,住在大家庭还可以帮助它们照顾父母。引导学生可用with表示原因,同时表伴随,成句With health care so expensive,所以要住在大家庭。
以上可以看出,这个过程不是简单地表格内容的复制粘贴,而是在老师的引导下整合成自己的完整输出,以此达到一个学生、吸收和内化的过程。通过这样归纳,演绎的而学习方式,学生不仅能够拓展自己的答题内容,同时通过练习,培养一种答题思维。类似的利弊类话题回答就不会手忙脚乱。

有的同学可能会问这不是混淆了对比和利弊类话题吗?其实,对比包括了利弊,通过利弊分析才能对比出优劣。所以说,利弊分析是对比的基石。下面就三级三单元listening 1听力材料内容做归纳演义。三级P28有听力归纳的一个表格如下所示:
下面就以支持closed office为例,运用课本知识回答优劣话题讨论。那我们就要巧妙地选用封闭办公室的益处和开放办公室的弊端展开话题。(支持open office 一面作为思考题)
Q: Which kind of office space would you prefer to work in? open office space or closed office space? Why? (三级 P28)
A: Personally, I prefer to work in the closed office space because its quieter. Such an environment helps me concentrate more on what I am doing, which is just a fabulous way of boosting my efficiency. Besides, staying alone also helps me ignite my inspiration(激发灵感). Therefore, working in closed office makes me more productive and efficient. (多产高效).
By contrast, the open office is less desirable because it’s unavoidably(不可避免的)surrounded with the ambient noise. As a result, it may not only distract me from work but also make me feel disturbed and annoyed.
分析:由此可见,无论是直接问利弊的口语话题还是间接两者对比。都要简述其优劣,进行具体描述。说出原因,影响或者结果作进一步拓展。
问题二选一,所以句直接回答问题,简述原因。引导学生可用personally表观点,而后表示原因可用because,since,for,as.连接两个完整的句子。即Personally, I prefer to work in the closed office space because its quieter.之后,引导学生解释观点。首先因为安静的环境人会更专注,所以会更加高效。即Such an environment helps me concentrate more on what I am doing, which is just a fabulous way of boosting my efficiency.其次,可用Besides连接,独处会给人带来灵感,实用短语了解一下ignite my inspiration。结合以上两点好处,所以therefore,闭合办公室让人更多产高效。添加的连词恰到好处,使行文自然流畅。
另外,为了凸显闭合办公室的好处,问问学生开放办公室有哪些弊端,方便对比论证。对比可以用By contrast引入,引导学生解释开放办公室在安静程度没有闭合办公室好的原因。即The open office is less desirable because unavoidably surrounded with the ambient noise. 显然,有噪音结果就是人会分心,引导学生用As a result这个短语连接说明不好的影响,即As a result, it may not only distract me from work but also make me feel disturbed and annoyed。
对比话题中分别进行优劣分析,即支持一方观点,陈述优点,附加原因或结果。之后对比分析,陈述另一方的弊端,简述缺点及不好的结果。这样结构清晰紧凑,观点简洁,主次分明。论述有条有理,有条不紊,紧扣逻辑,就是比较理想的回答。
