跳水≠jump water

　　在奥运会上的“跳水”可不是像我们平时游泳那样，如同下饺子般扑通扑通地扎进水池里，而是一种赛事运动。

　　它是从高处用各种姿势跃入水中或是从跳水器械上起跳，在空中完成一定动作姿势，并以特定动作入水的一项运动。

　　因此，“jump water”当然说不通啦!在英语中，【跳水】有一个专有名词：diving.

　　在权威词典《剑桥词典》中的英文解释为：

　　The sport of jumping into water, especially with your head and arms going in first, or of swimming underwater

　　如果你以为diving一词只有“跳水”之意，那你就只知其一，不知其二了。

　　diving is an attempt by a player to gain an unfair advantage by falling to the ground and possibly feigning an injury, to give the impression that a foul has been committed.

　　“diving”在英文中还可以表示运动员为了让裁判判罚对手犯规，而故意摔倒在地上，假装受伤。

　　因为跳水高度的原因，10米跳台比赛中的很多动作都是3米跳板中所做不到的，所以很多高难度动作在10米跳台的赛场上更容易看见。像3米、5米，这种低米数的跳水反而对跳水运动员的挑战性更大。
