“重要性”

　　雅思口语和写作中，我们会经常说“xxx很重要”，关于“重要的”，我们不要局限在 important，今天我们一起来学学更多表达，丰富我们的用词吧~

　　首先，我们说某物/某件事对我们来说“很重要”，我们可以说 it matters，如：

　　It mattered a great deal to her what other people thought of her.

　　另一个经常与 important 替换的词是 significant，名词形式 significance，非正式用于下，可说 sth. is a big deal，如：

　　The results of the experiment are not statistically significant.

　　Getting into college was a big deal for me.

　　强调某物/某件事的重要性时，我们也可以说 all-important 极重要的，程度更深些的话，还可以说 a matter of life and death 或者形容词 life-and-death，即字面意思“生死攸关”，如：

　　the all-important question in everyone’s minds

　　Being prepared for severe weather can be a matter of life and death.

　　描述“最重要的东西”，我们可以说 the be-all and end-all 重要的事物，全部，根本，这个表达多数用在否定句中，表示“不是真的那么重要”，如：

　　For some people, competing is the be-all and end-all of their running.

　　其他描述很重要且让人感觉完全有必要做的事，可以用 essential, vital, crucial, indispensable 必不可少的，类似的还有 key, critical，如：

　　The museum is closed while essential repairs are being carried out.

　　Good financial accounts are vital to the success of any enterprise.

　　Cars have become an indispensable part of our lives.

　　Good communication is key to our success.

　　表示“重要而紧急的，迫切地”，还可以用 imperative，这个词也能用作名词，表示“重要紧急的事，必要的事”，如：

　　It is absolutely imperative that we finish by next week.
