Personally speaking,I would definitely choose to celebrate my birthday or holidays with large gatherings or parties.
To begin with,I’m a people person.I mean,I enjoy hanging out with a bunch of friends from time to time and making some new friends. So when it comes to my birthday or holidays,I usually invite my friends over to my house or go to the restaurant with them, which makes me happier. However,if I just spend the time alone on such important occasions,I will probably feel a sense of isolation or loneliness.
In addition, without doubt,it’s more fun if there are people, because we can do a variety of fun things together, such as playing games, chatting,or doing some outdoor activities. But if I just spend the time alone,it’s boring.
=to be or stay somewhere for a period of time without doing much
a bunch of一帮(人);一束(花);一堆(物)
from time to time时不时
when it comes to当谈到
invite sb.over to...
a sense of isolation孤立感
without(a)doubt毋庸置疑
I think it’s a better choice to celebrate my birthday or holidays alone or with just a few people.
Well, honestly speaking,I’m not a people person.I enjoy spending some more me-time doing things that I like or spending time with a few people I know well;I feel more comfortable that way. However,on occasions where there are lots of people, especially those who I’m just on nodding or speaking terms with,I may feel embarrassed, because I’m not good at dealing with people from different backgrounds.
Also,in a large gathering or party,it’s usually very noisy, which can get on my nerves.I prefer to stay in a quiet environment with my close friends or family, where we can make small talk freely.
替换表达:to be honest, frankly speaking,to tell you the truth
be on nodding terms with sb.
be on speaking terms with sb.
deal with sb.
get on one’s nerves让某人烦躁
make small talk闲聊
As for me,I would prefer to celebrate my birthday or holidays with lots of people.
Obviously, the more people there are,the more fun we can have, because we can do a bunch of different things together, such as playing board games, chatting,or even doing some outdoor activities.By contrast,if I just spend the time alone,it would be boring because there isn’t much to do;I will miss out on all the fun.
Besides,a large gathering or party serves as a good opportunity for me to get to know people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise, people with similar interests, and we can form lifelong connections. We can help each other later on in our future business or career.
miss out on错过;错失
serve as a good opportunity for sb.to do sth.
