Task 2
Some people believe that they no longer need newspapers to learn news as they have the modern sources of information.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
【立场: agree】
【Introduction】
不要纠结陈述“背景”,而直接表态:With the modern sources of information, the Internet as the chief form, booming, I believe that newspapers have no place and that they can be abandoned. Admittedly, this is not totally denying the merits of newspapers.
【Body】学会论证
On one hand, newspapers report news with standards. 对核心概念的细化解释:A story willnot be published unless editors are certain that it is authentic rather than fabricated. Meanwhile, editors may be strict with the accuracy of details. However, a piece of article may still be abandoned if the information is deemed useless. On the other hand, readers may not appreciate the selection, because stories of editors’ choice may notintrigue them. As a matter of fact, modern readers like to make their own choice from an immense load of information. 顺着就说modern media的好 This is why the modern media has an edge. They are able to provide the enormous amount of information.
Also, the modern media informs their readers and viewers within a few hours or even minutes. News travel fast at an unprecedented speed on the palm-sized devices, 一定要对“非简单常识”的内容解释“为什么”,“是怎么实现的”“具体发生什么”:since the modern media is highly democratic as every individual that has a phone can post what they see and upload pictures on the social media, and information gets through without complicated and slow censorship. As a result, people no longer need to wait at least half a day until newspapers are printed or know an event only if they are local.
In addition, a reader who reads online does not need to pay as much as another who reads traditional newspapers, 一定要对“非简单常识”的内容解释“为什么”,“是怎么实现的”“具体发生什么”:because one website alone provides as much information as at least five newspapers combined do.
【Conclusion】
In conclusion, the modern sources of news have the advantage over newspapers. As we are aware of the many advantages, it is fair to believe that newspapers are no longer necessary.
